The balance-shaft equipped engine delivers smooth,

the S, R and GT. This light, high-performance
powerhouse uses cylinder head technology taken

available electronic suspension adjustment. The

longitudinal Compact Drive System for smooth power
and a low centre of gravity.

head of the class. The industry's first powered
centrestand, along with the reverse gear, eases
parking. Highly-effective lighting, a refined
cockpit information display, and great comfort for
the rider and passenger round out the LT.
The F650GS and Dakar
F650GS The fun, do-everything GS continues to
receive rave reviews in the press. These tough and
versatile machines were used by BMW as the basis for
overall wins in the 1999 Granada-Dakar and the 2000
Paris-Dakar-Cairo desert/road rallies. The Dakar
model commemorates this achievement.
